taking candy from a baby?
I propose that they should try it
and then maybe, just maybe,
they would figure out
the power of an infant’s scream
whether you are taking
candy, cookies, fruit or ice cream.
They have a vice-like grip
on small trinkets and your gadgets.
Pull as hard as you want,
you'll be lucky if you manage it.
Last, if you ignore the angry shriek
and manage to pry free your treat,
don’t underestimate a tired mom.
Her rage and speed cannot be beat.
